The Modern Sarong was the first garment that I started making all the way back in 1977 and at that time there were 3 simple suggested styles. I wear my Sarongs quite often (I currently own over 6 Sarong Dresses myself), and I continue to enthusiastically explain this beautiful garment to all who enter my booths at the 4 Renaissance Festivals in which I now participate throughout each year circuit.
My current Instruction Sheet shows 14 Styles and I am happy to say that I now have 3 new Styles to add to my published suggested ways to tie yourself up. I credit these inspirations to my Sarong customers who have fallen in love with its versatility and after playing with their custom fitted Sarong Dress at home have come back to me to show off their creations. I have been delighted to add their ideas to The Sarong Instruction Sheet for all of you to enjoy.
All of the Sarongs have been preshrunk to encourage you to wear it often with no concerns of special cleaning requirements. Style # 1 “Elegant Close Fitting Sun Dress” is the style that determines correct fit. The slit in the dress front should just meet and not cross over any more than 1/2″ or leave an opening. The fit as a skirt is less critical since you can follow the tips written in the Instruction Sheet to fold, tuck and adjust the skirt styles to work beautifully.
